Christopher Cantu operates his independent Kingsview Partners practice in Georgetown, Texas, just outside of Austin. He has nine years of advisory experience and joined Kingsview Partners’ platform in 2023.
After 25 years of active-duty service in the Air Force, Christopher Cantu’s commitment to serving others found a new avenue of expression when he established the Georgetown branch of Kingsview Partners in 2023.
In his role as fiduciary, Chris brings not only a wealth of experience but also a deep-seated sense of duty and service that has been the cornerstone of his life and career.
“If you had to put one word on my tombstone, it would simply say ‘servant,’” he said. “That’s truly who I am.”
During his tenure as a Commander, Colonel Cantu’s job was to prepare men and women for combat—but he also readied them for life beyond the military, including advising them on family and financial preparedness.
“When people came into my office, [it was] almost always [about] personal matters, and the leading one was finances,” he said. “I was simply trying to take care of people and to educate them on the importance of thinking about their financial future.”
Chris brings ten years of advisory experience to his clients, empowering them to take control of their financial futures with confidence and clarity. Whether it’s retirement planning, investment strategies or risk management, he readies his clients to navigate life’s complexities.
Chris’s values and client-centric approach
For Chris, financial planning is not just about numbers and portfolios—it’s about walking alongside individuals and families to help them reach their goals and aspirations; to live their life on their terms.
Chris serves “his five C’s,” which he describes as the guiding purpose of his life: church, country, community, clients, and the Cantu family. Likewise, he asks four questions before onboarding new clients:
1. “Can we get along?”
2. “Can we philosophically agree on how to invest your money?”
3. “Will you take some of my advice? (But it doesn’t have to be all.)
4. “Will you return my call?” Clients have 24/7 access, and when they call, he prides himself on knowing their lives.
“When I first started in this business, I was shocked at the level of pessimism I heard. I want people to have hope,” he said. “I believe in our future. I’ve been around the world and seen many bad things, and despite what we hear and read, I believe in our country, our economy, and especially our people.”
How Kingsview Partners can help
“When my clients turn 70, I ask them, ‘If you could go back and give yourself some advice, what would you tell your younger self?’” he said. Typically, he hears these three responses: “I would have started sooner, I would have saved more, or I would have taken more risk as it was never as bad as I thought.” But he is always mindful of his advice to Airmen before going into combat for the first time, “Only take as much risk as needed in order to achieve the mission.”
In a world where financial literacy and leadership are more important than ever, Chris is eager to serve.

Navigating Medicare
As a consumer, it’s important to know the basics about Medicare. However, we realize it can be confusing to determine which plan will work best for you – so that’s why Medicare BackOffice® is here to help.
What is Medicare?
Medicare is health insurance for people age 65 or older, under age 65 with certain disabilities and people of any age with end-stage renal disease. Below, we will explain the four parts of Medicare — Part A, Part B, Part C and Part D.
It’s important that you understand the different components of Medicare and carefully weigh your choices. Why? Because your decision will impact many things, from what you pay and which benefits are available to you, to which doctors you can see and the quality of care you receive.
You Have Several Options, Depending on Where You Live. You Can:
– Elect Original Medicare
– Elect Original Medicare and add drug coverage with a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan
– Substitute a private Medicare Advantage plan for Original Medicare
– Substitute a private Medicare Advantage plan that also includes Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage in place of Original Medicare (resulting in an “MA-PD” plan)
– Elect Original Medicare, add a Medicare Supplement insurance plan to pay for any gaps in coverage and add drug coverage with a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan
We understand deciding on a Medicare health plan is one of the most important decisions you’ll make in retirement. We’re here to help.
